Mr. Abron Herman Simpson, Sr., 80 of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Levine & Dickson-Aldersgate. He was born on July 11, 1939 in Pickens, SC, the son of the late Herman and Ella Mae Simpson.
He retired from H & S Lumber Company after 43 years. Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his brother Roy Simpson, granddaughter, Te'Keshia Chambers, and grandson, Justin Hines.
He leaves to cherish memories by his wife of 58 years, Maggie Simpson and four children; one son, Abron Simpson Jr. (Pamela) of Charlotte, NC; three daughters, Linda Chambers of Charlotte, NC, Eloise Hines (James) of Rock Hill, SC and Gladys Simpson of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Frances Graham of Charlotte, NC; ten grandchildren, Dominic Simpson, Carlos Simpson, Corey Chambers, Brittany Chambers, James Hines Jr., Joshua Hines, Anthony Hines, Jeremiah Hines, Rochelle McKinley, and Crystal McKinley; twelve great-grandchildren, Janyia, Jakayla, Zakaria, Brianna, Kaleb, Avery, Justice, Lyric, Marshaun, Kinsley, Bridgett, and Paris; seven sisters-in-law; Ruth Crosby of Lancaster, SC, Zelma Kirkland of Lancaster, SC, Eliza Funderburk of Charlotte, NC, Betty Jean Stradford of Richburg, SC, Catherleen Williams of Fort Lawn, SC, Linda Mingo of Lancaster, SC, and Dot Crosby of Landford, SC; five brothers-in-law, Ralph Stradford of Fort Lawn, SC, Otis Stradford (Jean) of Lancaster, SC, Theo Stradford, Kenny Stradford, and Lewis Stradford all of Fort Lawn, SC; an host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
