Mr. Albert J. Simmons, 72 of Charlotte, departed this life on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Atrium Health-University. He was born in Pinehurst, NC (Moore County) to the late Roscoe Mayhew and Ella Roy Simmons-Stanford on February 20, 1948.

Albert was a graduate of Pinckney High School and later went on to attend and graduate from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science.  He joined the United States Air Force and retired after 21 years of service.  Albert was also a 32nd Degree Mason since 1985.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Johnny Stanford, Clara Stanford-Fortune (John Fortune), and Willie Stanford (Christine Stanford).

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Stephanie Simmons-Moorer; grandson, Jonavan T. Moorer; siblings, Laura Simmons-DeLeon (Mike DeLeon), Rose Marie Stanford-Harris, Clinton Stanford, Sylvester Stanford (Helen Stanford), and Harold Stanford (Yvonne Stanford).
