Mrs. Alberta Hood Ivey was born to the union of the late Hazel Ezzell and Annie Camp Hood on March 17, 1950, in Lancaster, SC. She entered her heavenly rest a few days after celebrating her 74th birthday on the morning of March 23, 2024.

Mrs. Ivey graduated from Barr Street High School in Lancaster, SC. She later married the love of her life, Travis C. Ivey, Sr. to this union, Mrs. Ivey and Travis had three daughters and one son. She was a strong woman who loved her family and her church, Piney Grove. Bert, as she was affectionately called, worked in many homes taking care of others. Bert also worked as a homemaker raising her children as her husband worked to provide for their family. She loved cooking and baking as her children and grandchildren can attest to. She was faithful to her calling as a wife, mother, grandmother, and church member. She served faithfully as a member of Piney Grove West Missionary Baptist Church as an usher, deaconess, missionary, and choir member, and served on the kitchen committee until her health no longer allowed her to do so.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest reward in life, and she loved them so much. Mrs. Ivery was preceded in death by her husband, Travis C. Ivey, Sr. and daughter Stephanie Monique Ivey. Mrs. Ivey leaves to cherish her memories her children; Demertrick Chambers (kenneth), Tracey Ivey, and Travis C. Ivey, Jr., grandchildren; Kinesha, Raven, Teneisha, Kiara, Darius, Jaylan Kendrea, Tre, Daquan (Ella), and Miesha; great grandchildren; Caleb, Justin, Xavien, Khari, Cameron, Micah, Milan, and Zaiden.

Mrs. Ivey also leaves to cherish her memories her siblings; Thomas E. Hood, David K. Hood, Betty G. Craig, Eunice Belk (Wardlow), and Judy G. Moore, mother-in-law; Jennie B. Ivey; sisters-in-law; Carolyn Ingram, Malissie Massey (John), Patricia Witherspoon (Larry), and Brothers-in-Law; Bentley Ivey and Ken Ivey, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
