Obituary

Miss Alfred Louise Tolliver, the fifth of six children, was born August 21, 1941 to the late Rozel and Laura Tolliver in Greenville, SC. Her parents and siblings (Rozel Jr., Ollie, Annie and William Sr.) preceded her in death.

The family moved to Charlotte, NC in 1942. After graduating from West Charlotte High School in 1958, she attended Queens University, where she earned a BA in 1990.

Louise worked at Delmar Studios for a short period, and then began her career at the U.S. Postal Service, where she retired in 2005.

Louise attended St. Paul Baptist Church until her health became an issue. She served as church historian and with YWIA (Young Women in Action).

She is survived by her son, Rev. Kent A. Tolliver (Vanessa Imes); granddaughters, Monica McLeod (James), Stephanie Imes Sellers; great granddaughter, Skye Fahmy; great grandson, Raymond D. Sellers III; nieces, Maria Gooden, June Wright (Jeff) Valerie McCarroll (Chris); nephews, Gary Tolliver, Rozel Tolliver (Tonya), Roy Tolliver Jr. (Lisa), Ramon Convia, Daryl Hunter and Leonard Gaines; special cousins, John Watts (Ramona), Dorothy Thompson, and Geraldine Brown; sisters-in-law, Janice Tolliver and Johnny M. Tolliver and a host of other cousins, great nieces and nephews.
