Alice Mae Butler was born on June 15,1940 in Anson County, NC to the late Oscar & Lozzie Barrett.

She quietly departed this life for her eternal home on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Alice Mae received her formal education at the Anson County Training School. After moving to Charlotte, she became a member of Steel Creek A.M.E. Zion Church, where she faithfully served for over 50 years on various auxiliaries until 2016 due to her declining health.

She was .preceded in death by her loving daughter, Alisa Tillman, her brothers, Kevin Barrett, Robert Barrett, James Barrett, Theodis Barrett and sister Lucille Tillman. She leaves to mourn her only son, Joe A, Phifer (Towana), 1 sister, Celia Mae Gaddy, 1 sister in law, Marcelette Barrett, 6 grandchildren, Marquis, Cornelius, Ozzie, Jasminie, William and Mckenzie, 3 great grandchildren, Jakira, whom she raised and Cornelius, Jr and Jamari, and 1 great great grandson Kamari. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
