Alice L. Potts, 76, of Indian Land, SC, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Rock Hill Acute Care Center in Rock Hill, SC.

Alice Lee Potts, affectionately known as "Boosie," was born in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, and departed this life peacefully in Rock Hill, South Carolina. A devoted mother, beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend, Alice lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and beauty.

Born to the late James Sylvester and Elloree Washington Potts, Alice was one of eight siblings.  She is preceded in death by her parents and three of her siblings: James Lawrence "Bubbee" Potts, Annie Lois McManus, and William "Bru Bru" Potts. She is survived by her loving sisters, Mary Catherine Pride, Vivian Ellison, Francella Murray, and Mildred "Coochie" Ross; her brother-in-law, Vincent Ross; her sister-in-law, Libby McManus (Charles); her aunt, Mary Lee Green; her close friend, Mary Goode; and hundreds of close cousins.  Alice shared a close and meaningful bond with her family, and her memory will forever remain in their hearts.

Alice was the proud mother of four children. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn, and is survived by her sons, Anthony (Patricia) and Christopher, and her daughter, Loleta, whom she raised with strength, wisdom, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a loving legacy through her grandchildren, Nikemia Potts, Shekera Potts, Shamaya Perry, Chasteney Potts, Andre Miller, Sheanetta Potts, Christina Lee, Jacquell Perry, Nathaniel Potts, and Brandon Potts, as well as her great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply.

Known for her tender spirit and kind heart, Alice worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Daughters of Miriam Center. As a single mother, she exemplified perseverance and determination, earning her GED and pursuing a career dedicated to caring for others. Alice had a special gift for making her surroundings beautiful. She loved plants, décor, and creating spaces that reflected her warm and nurturing soul. Her Bible was always close by, filled not only with the Word of God but with her most cherished memories tucked between the pages like gentle reminders of a life well-lived.

She will be fondly remembered for her faith, her gentle nature, and her ability to bring beauty, comfort, and grace into the lives of those around her.

"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation."

—2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (KJV)
