Alonzo "Chip" Jones, Jr., 55 of Charlotte, departed this life on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.  He graduated from Olympic High School in 1984.  He worked a variety of occupations and at the end of his career, he worked as a dedicated auto-technician at Hendrick Honda until 2011.  His hobbies included fishing, hunting, basketball, softball, and was a huge Dallas Cowboys Fan!

Chip was preceded in death by his father, Alonzo Jones, Sr.  He leaves to cherish his mother, Barbara Parks Jones; one sister, Victoria Pope of Charlotte; two sons, Damar Young of Fayetteville, NC and Justyn Smith of Charlotte, NC; two stepsons, Trent Henderson and Damaris Valentine of Lincolnton, NC; six aunts, Virginia McClurkin (Charles) of Chester, SC, Lizzie Long (Marshall), Mary Cuthbertson, Lois Ervin, Mozelle Land (Sam), and Lucinda Harris, all of Charlotte, NC.  Two uncles; David Parks (Sharon), and Jessie Parks, both of Charlotte, NC; one great aunt, Lizzie Thompson of York, SC; one great uncle, Willie "Uncle Jr" Parks, Jr., of McConnells, SC; one nephew, Darius Pope; one niece, Makayla Pope; one honorary God Grandson, Austin Abernathy, and a host of cousins and friends.
