Mr. Andrew Gibson,79, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Atrium Mercy.

Mr. Andrew Gibson, of Charlotte, NC, transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Atrium Health Mercy.  He was born in Mooresville, NC, on September 4, 1944.  He was the son of the late Albert Lee Gibson and Minnie Patterson Gibson.

Andrew attended school in Mecklenburg County, then later on moved to New York City where he drove cabs and worked as a security officer for several high schools.

He was married to the late Clotel Connie Roundtree and to this union no children were born, but he leaves to cherish his memory one son, David V. Gibson; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth M. Gibson of Brooklyn, NY; three daughters, Andrea Smith of Brownsville, TN, Theresa Brooks and son-in-law, James A. Brooks of Augusta, GA, and Vivian Gibson, also of Augusta, GA; one sister-in-law, Elaine Gibson of Huntersville, NC; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, whom he loved dearly, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
