Ann Lindsay, 79 of Charlotte, NC passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at her residence.

"For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."   II Timothy 4:6-8

On Monday May 15, 2023, Sister Ann Lindsay, affectionately known as "Granny" by her grandchildren and "Puddin" by her family, friends, church members and co-workers, passed away peacefully in her sleep.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Dollie Raley.

She was joined in matrimony to Robert Lindsay, Jr.

Ann attended the public schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg and was a graduate of York Road High School.  She worked as a social worker in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System.  After years of service and countless interactions with the youth, she retired.

She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.  She enjoyed the anointed sermons, gospel hymns and musical concerts.  Ann also enjoyed talking to her family whether it was in person or on the phone.  She provided guidance, support, prayer, courage, faith, trust, strength and so much more to many people.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dollie Raley; loving husband, Robert Lindsay Jr.; son, Scottie Raley; daughter, Sacore Gray; sister, Ruth Young; and brother, Randolph Raley.

She is survived by her son, Robert Lindsay, III (Trease); daughter-in-law, Brenda Raley; sisters-in-law, Peggy Lindsay, Gloria Brown of Kannapolis NC, Sylvia Woodley of Winona, MS, Joeann Witherspoon, Brenda Thompson of Charlotte NC; brothers-in-law, Leon Lindsay (Beverly), Alvin Thompson (Ann) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
