Mrs. Annie Jones Rankin, 68 of Charlotte, went home to rest with her personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, December 6, 2021.  She was born on December 28, 1952 in York, SC to the late William Jones, Sr. and the late Linia M. Jones.  Ann was preceded in death by her parents William and Linia Jones, brother Willie Jones Jr., sister Pearline Hardy, and mother in law Laura Rankin.

Ann was educated in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1971.  Following graduation, she then began a successful career with Dobbs House and Dobbs Catering.  Ann continued to progress in her career.  She worked hard and eventually became a supervisor at Dolls by Jerry.

On August 16, 1986, Ann entered into holy matrimony with husband Elder G. B. Rankin for 35 years whom she loved dearly.  She enjoyed cooking, sending time with her family, and most importantly she loved the Lord Jesus Christ.  She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.  Later in life she was affectionately known as "Mama Ann" to her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, especially her live in grandchildren Angel and David aka Punch.

Ann leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Elder G. B. Rankin, her son Anthony Jones, sons Benitez Gabriel and David Gabriel Sr. (Jermecisa), grandchildren Angel Jones, David Gabriel Jr., Regina Gabriel, and Jermecisa Gabriel, a sister Eva Potts, three brothers Eddie Jones (Rose), Donald Jones (Anetha), Larry Jones (Almir), sisters in law Carol Ann Rankin and Flora Rankin, brothers in law Richard Rankin (Crystal) and Greg Rankin (Shari), extended family/best friend Elvira Bankhead Guy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
