Ms. Annie Mae Wallace, the daughter of the late Columbus Wallace and Ella Mae Kirkpatrick Simpson, was born July 7, 1943, in Mecklenburg County. She transitioned from mortal to immortal on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Charlotte Health and Rehabilitation Center at 1735 Toddville Road.
Annie was educated at Sterling School and the York Road Comprehensive High School. She worked as a caregiver for countless people. Her work ethic was strong, and she devoted her life to being a helper and a nurturer.
Annie Mae was a proud member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she sang on the Hymn Choir and served on the Culinary Committee. She was a devoted, loving, and passionate Christian solider. She worked tirelessly and faithfully until her health declined.
Annie Mae was a sweet, humble, gentle, and kind sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She loved to walk long distances and helping people was her passion. She was incredibly positive and always shared words of encouragement with others. She never met a stranger.
Annie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; Bessie Made Adams, Dorothy K. Stewart, and Queen Esther Wallace; and one brother, Jessie Lee Givens.
Annie Mae Wallace leaves to cherish her fond memories, one brother, Turner Simpson, Sr. and a very special friend, Mildred Hall both of Charlotte, NC; three nieces, eight nephews, and a host of great and great-great nieces, and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
