Our mother, Annie Mae Williams, 86 of Charlotte, beloved daughter of the late Louise Strong and loving wife of the late Richard A. Williams was born on August 17, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland. She left this earth on the evening of Friday, October 8, 2021 after a long illness in the residence that she shared with her daughter in Charlotte, North Carolina.
On June 30, 1962 Annie was united in holy matrimony with Richard Williams.
Annie became a Licensed Practical Nurse on May 16, 1958. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Maryland on May 29, 1980, then received her Masters of Public Administration from University of Baltimore in May 1986.
She used her training and worked in many areas where she could help others, including hospitals, National Institute of Health and then ultimately retired from her career as a Social Insurance Specialist at the Social Security Administration.
Annie was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Strong, her husband, Richard A. Williams, and one brother, Jimmy Strong. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Joseph Pretty (Vivian), Gardenia Robinson (James), and Glennette Williams; grandchildren, Pat, JJ, Christopher, DeAngelo (Aeisha), Donita (Jarrell), and Tim; one brother, Leroy Strong; one brother-in-law, Clarence Williams (Flora); one sister-in-law, Annie Lee Johnson (William); 13 great-granchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and other friends.
