Annie Williams Wylie, 86, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Annie H. Williams Wylie was born October 21, 1939, in Pamlico, NC. She was the youngest of four children born to Fred Hall and Mima Mosley Hall. On March 26, 2026 our Heavenly Father called her from pain and labor to her eternal reward. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Annie became a member of Broad Creek United Church of Christ in Oriental, NC, at a young age. Later in life, she became a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Charlotte, NC, and BOLD Church® in Charlotte,NC.
Annie began her education at Pamlico Elementary School in Bayboro, NC. After graduating, she attended Pamlico County Training School, followed by Shaw University in Raleigh, NC, where she received a degree in Business Education. She later attended New York University, earning a degree in Education, and Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, where she received her Master’s degree.
Annie worked for seven years at Pamlico County Training School and then for one year at Winston-Salem School, teaching eighth grade boys. She later returned to Pamlico County to work at Pamlico Junior High school. In 1979, Annie moved to Charlotte and began working at West Mecklenburg High School, where she served for 23 years. In 1985, Annie began decorating for weddings and creating floral arrangements for friends and family part-time while continuing her work at West Mecklenburg High School.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Wylie, Sr.; her mother Mima Mosley Hall; her father Fred Hall; her brothers Frederick Hall Jr, and Silvester Hall; and her sister Katie H. Ballantine.
Annie married Robert E. Wylie in 2005 and became the mother of seven children: Robert E. Wylie Jr. (deceased) (Mary), Michael Wylie (Antoinette), Barbara Rosello (Ron), Karen Ray (Michael), Kevin Wylie (Lesa), Kent Wylie, and Scott Wylie. She also leaves to cherish her memory eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
