Mr. Anthony "Mark" Bufford, 72 of Charlotte, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. He was born to Carrie Beatrice Malone and William Henry Bufford in Akron, Ohio on February 16, 1947. Mark graduated from Akron East High School in 1965 and attended the University of Akron for one year before being drafted to the United States Army. He proudly served his country and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Over the years, Mark had several careers in the areas of auto and machine mechanics, janitorial/custodial services, long distance truck driving, and security services. He was semi-retired and worked part-time as a security guard. Mark was a faithful and active member of Victory Christian Center. He loved the Lord and his church family. He worked for the church and volunteered in several ministries of helps including the Security Team, Prayer Partners Ministry, M.A.P. (Men Active and Praying), Ushers Ministry and other ministries at Victory Christian Center.
Mark is preceded in death by his Mother, Carrie Beatrice Malone; Father, William Henry Bufford; Sister, Starlene Jean Malone; Step-mother, Elzona Bufford and Wife, Patricia Bufford. He is survived by his sisters, Rachel Brown, Delores Katherine Malone-Carter, and Darlene Jane Malone; his daughters, Kavin Antionette Montgomery (Boyd), Aina Jaharah Bufford, and Rosalyn Yvette Curry and his son, Minister Ekron Bufford (Loukeshia). Mark is also survived by his former wife, Matty Bufford Cooksey, eight grandchildren and a host of other family members that he loved very much.
Mark was known for his strong faith, charismatic sense of humor, and genuine care and compassion for others. Mark did not say "Goodbye or Bye" to others he ended with "God's Love."
