IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Antonio Maurice
Phillips
February 5, 1990 – December 30, 2022
Antonio Maurice "Lil Moe" Phillips, 32 years old, departed his earthly life on Friday, December 30, 2022. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was a native of Monroe, North Carolina where he resided with his grandparents, Furman and Evelyn Brown of Monroe, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Brown and his mother, Tina Phillips. He attended and graduated from Monroe High School. Later enrolled in art school to pursue his passion for drawing. After finishing courses in art school, he held various jobs in the manufacturing industry. His last place of employment was working as a forklift operator at Parkdale Mills in Monroe, NC. Maurice was known for his laid-back spirit, kind heartedness, and the memories and relationships he cherished with his relatives, friends, and anyone he knew. He was always a respectful and loving young man to everyone he encountered. He touched the lives of many of his friends and family members with little to know words, often just being there to listen and offer advice when many of us needed it the most. As much as he provided to others, he would always embrace words of wisdom and encouragement from those who loved him most without saying no more than "Ok, I understand, and I Love You." He not only loved and cherished his family and friends he also loved and cherished his beloved fur baby "Ivey" as well. Ivey was like his shadow who allowed him to pursue his love for dog breeding and made him a dog-papa many times over. Lil Maurice is survived by his devoted grandparents, Furman and Evelyn Brown of Monroe, NC; grandfather, Johnny E. Phillips , Sr. (Arleen) of Mobile, AL; three brothers, Maurice Larea Brown, Jr. "Baby Maurice" of Charlotte, NC, Darius M. Phillips of Queens, NY and Jeffrey Green of North Carolina; sister, Alexis DeJaNee Phillips of Baton Rouge, LA; two nieces, Aleigh Barber and Scarlett Phillips, both of Baton Rouge, LA; aunts, Crystal Montgomery (Orlando) of Monroe, NC, Maria Brown (Yaquii), and Avonda McKinney-Davis of Charlotte, NC, Diedre Phillips of Mobile, AL; uncles, Ryan McAfee (Merlinda) of Charlotte, NC, Harry McKinney (Patricia) of Lancaster, SC and Demarcus Redfearn (Persephone) of Gastonia, NC, Johnny E. Phillips Jr. of Mobile, AL; twelve great-aunts, four great-uncles and a host of devoted cousins, relatives, and friends. Maurice will truly be missed by all who loved him so much. His transition has left a void in many of our hearts and minds that only Jesus can fill through the power of prayer. To everyone he knew and touched we really appreciate all the messages you shared via social media, phone calls and text. Every message has given our family confirmation of what we loved most about him, his big heart and kind spirit! Rest easy, Baby! You will be truly missed and always Loved!!
