Apostle Jean Porter, 73 of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday January 23, 2019 at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast.

She was born on October 30, 1945 in Beaumont, Texas to Ora Adams presently of Seattle, WA.  A native of Seattle, Washington, Apostle Jean Porter was a profound teacher and preacher of the Gospel for over 46 years.  Her journey was sanctioned by God and her peers, and heralded by the people of God who could feel the love of a woman of nobility and grace.  Her declarative and compassionate motto was "soul business is serious business".

Apostle Jean met a kindred spirit in her friend that became her husband, Bishop Thomas Porter for 29 years.  She is survived by her husband, Thomas Porter of Charlotte, NC.; two brothers: Vernon Brown of Seattle, WA and Michael (Barbara) Brown of Macon, GA; Jean was a loving mother to Toni Mitchell of Charlotte, NC; Brian (Paula) Little of Spokane, WA; David (Teresa) Little, Marcus Little, Jason (Tyhesha) Little, Steven (Ebony) Little, and Thomas Porter, Jr., all of Macon, GA; Maurice (Kaai) Brooks of Phenix City, AL; Marcus Porter of Leland, MS; and Tequita M. Porter-Azantilow of  Arlington, TX.  She also leaves to cherish her memories, 25 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, church members and loved ones.

Apostle Jean had excelled a a mother, wife, entrepreneur, and author.  Her leadership has not only birthed the achievement of goals, but the development of pastors, bishops, evangelists, prophets, teachers, apostles and all of the gifts of help the Lord would release.  She was the author of several books which include: "The Pressure of Duty", "Phenomenal Woman", "Preparing For Ministry Training Manual", "Preaching Structure and Etiquette", "Euroclydon", and several mini books. The pains have been many, and yet so have the joys.  The struggles have been hard, but so glorious have been the victories.  Apostle Porter lived her life to deliver the Gospel to all who would hear and it was a full and fruitful one.
