Mr. Arnold Wade Osborne, 68, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Rockwell Health & Rehab.
Mr. Arnold Wade Osborne, also known as "Pearl," beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 68. He was born on June 4, 1957, to the late Deacon John N. Osborne Sr. and the late Camilla S. Osborne of Charlotte, NC. He departed this life after a long illness on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The Osborne family was a very large and loving family. Arnold and his twin brother Aaron were the second set of fraternal twins born into the Osborne family and Arnold had a deep love for his family. He was very protective of those he loved, whether family or friends.
Arnold had a joyful spirit with a contagious laugh that could fill a room. He had a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with family and friends. To Arnold, his greatest gifts of all were the lifelong friendships he cultivated, developed and cherished throughout his life. If you were blessed to be a friend of Arnold, you had a friend indeed. He was kind-hearted, loyal and supportive. He was a joy to be around. Arnold was extremely supportive and would offer words of encouragement no matter what challenges his family and friends were facing or how difficult the situations they were involved in.
Widely recognized for his athletic talents, Arnold "Pearl" attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, where he played both basketball and football. He graduated from West Mecklenburg High School and later attended Central Piedmont Community College. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He was widely known for his dance moves and vibrant presence.
Arnold joined Salem Missionary Baptist Church at a very young age, where he actively participated in the basketball ministry, The Salem Saints. As a child, he wore braces on his legs, but in a moment of determination and joy while playing with his siblings, he ran out of his braces and never stopped running — until his health no longer allowed him to.
Arnold worked as a brick mason in the family business and was later employed by Earth Grain. His last employment was at Food Lion where he enjoyed working and laughing with his co-workers.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and joy that will be forever cherished by his family and friends — especially his twin brother Aaron, whom he loved dearly. He was known for his kind and considerate heart and was rarely seen without a smile on his face.
In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by three sisters, Deborah C. Osborne, Beverly G. Osborne, and Marion M. Broderick.
Left to cherish fond memories are his brothers, his twin Aaron Osborne, Rev. John Osborne Jr. (Cheryl), Paul Osborne, Marvin Osborne, and Dwight Osborne; his sisters, Cassandra O. Shropshire (Rev. Dr. Harvey L.), Malinda O. Phillips (Quintin), and Jade O. Harris (Rev. Dr. Christopher E.). He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Arnold's presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
