A. Avalanche King Beatty, aka "Abby", 91 of Charlotte, departed her earthly home on July 13, 2021 at Novant - Main. She was born in Cherokee County, South Carolina on October 21, 1929. She was the only child of the late Chasie Parker and was raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Jessie and Earnest King.

She attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and graduated from Plato Price High School. While there, she played basketball. She met and married her husband, Charles Beatty.

In her early years of spiritual growth, she attended church in Cherokee County, South Carolina. In later years, she attended H.O. Graham Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC.

Her hobbies were working, shopping and cooking. She loved working so much that she did so until the age of eighty-three (83).

Ms. Beatty was preceded in death by her siblings, Sylvester King, Louise Fonder, Ernest King, Ovella Stacks, Maggie Brown, Samuel King, Vernell King, Hadessa Hooper, Vernon King, Elmer King, Zelmer King, Jessie Thorn and Barbara Richards.

She leaves to cherish her life two daughters, Claudette Beatty and Rhonda Connelly of Charlotte; one son, Kevin Beatty; five grandchildren, Brad Beatty (Rena), Bryan Beatty, Chisa Beatty, Le'Andres Connelly and William Connelly (Erin) of Charlotte, NC; five great-grandchildren, Marques Tate, Bryanna Flax, Malik Beatty, Alisia Flax and Cameron Connelly of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Atwood Sifford and brothers, Hermie King and Sylester King of Charlotte, NC and many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
