Austin Paul Sherrill, 26, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his residence in Charlotte, NC.

Paul, as he was affectionately known, attended Mount Pleasant High School, where he began to shine both academically and athletically. He continued his education in Lewisburg, Virginia, earning his associate degree in education. Later, he moved to Florida and attended Keiser University, where he distinguished himself as an All-American athlete.

Paul excelled in football, basketball and track. His dedication and talent earned him All-American honors in high school, and he was named Most Valuable Player multiple times throughout his school years.

Beyond athletics, Paul had a passion for cooking and was especially known for his delicious meals. His favorite dish to prepare was steak.

Paul deeply loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He was preceded in death by Thomas and Alice Burrough.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his parents, Teresa and Steve Sherrill; his brothers and sisters, James Jackson, Steve Burrough, Taquerla Janet, and Alice Sherrill; and his special brother, Anthony Cook. He is also survived by his grandparents, Joann and Tony Bennett; his uncles, Junior (Aneice), Leon (Angelina) and Chris; his great-aunt, Betty (Jessie) Erwin; and his great-uncle, Alfred (Leslie) White; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, friends, and teammates.
