Ms. Azalee Dae, "Sister," was born May 21, 1926, to the late Addie Huff Dae and Gordon Dae, Sr. She was born in Elberton, Wilkes County, Georgia. Azalee lived an amazing life. She departed this life on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Charlotte Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Azalee graduated from Elberton High School in Elberton, Georgia. She and her son, Norris, later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, to be with family.
Azalee was a former member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. She met and began working for Wilma Crates, Martha Thorne, Jonnie Smith and Ann Ayers for many years. They were her extended and loving families.
She was a very loving and generous lady. She loved and nurtured her entire family. She loved every child in her family as well as everyone she met. To know her was to truly love her.
Azalee was preceded in death by her parents, Addie and Gordon Dae; brothers, John Ben, Albert, Gordon, Jr. (Ernestine) and Lynn Dae (Cecelia); sisters, Mary Scott (Ed) and Fannie Johnson (John Clinton); and nephew (like a son), Darryl Lindsay.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Norris Dae (Dorothy); grandson, Norris II; sister-in-law, Willie Jo Dae; niece (like a daughter) Stella Teresa Johnson, all of Charlotte; a plethora of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; many other relatives, family members, friends and loved ones.
