Betty Rose Gaddy, 70 of Charlotte, departed this life and entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at her home. She was born January 11, 1952 in Lumberton, North Carolina to the late Ervin Gaddy and Geneva Gaddy. Betty Rose was preceded in death by her sister, Shelvy Hayes and four brothers, Jerry Gaddy, Gene Gaddy, Earl Gaddy and Milton Gaddy.
Betty Rose attended Rosenwald High School in Lumberton, North Carolina. She worked many jobs but had the pleasure of retiring from Barnhardt Manufacturing Company.
Betty Rose made a confession of faith and gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church for many years where she sang on the Spiritual Choir and Mass Choir. She loved to crochet, do crossword puzzles and watch Westerns. Betty Rose loved to sew and made most of her outfits. She also loved to dress and wear her hats. When she dressed up, she would not wait for you to tell her she looked good. She would tell you, she looked good. Crayola crayons had nothing on the many different colors of nail polish, she had. Betty Rose was known for making the best banana pudding. No one could make them like she could. She would have those cookies standing at attention as if they were in the military. Everyone knew that when she said something, you knew exactly what she meant and she meant exactly what she said. Betty Rose is loved by so many people. She will truly be missed.
Betty Rose is survived by her daughter, Tonia Gaddy; her son, Stanley Gaddy; five grandchildren, Davion, Stanley Jr., Jabaree, Jabria and Moe'Nae; two sisters, Etheline Powell (Lynn), Linzeter Gaddy; two brothers, Phillip Gaddy, Jimmie Gaddy (Sally); special great-niece, Leah Hayes, all of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
