Ms. Betty Joyce Thomas Jeter, 87 of Charlotte, transitioned this life on Tuesday March 31, 2020 at Saturn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte. She was born August 15, 1932 in Chester, South Carolina to the late John and Mammie Thomas.

Betty attended Finley High School in Chester, SC.  She married the love of her life, Louis Jeter.  They would have been married 70 years on August 5, 2020.  They relocated to Brooklyn, NY for thirteen years, then moved the Charlotte, NC.

Mrs. Jeter was a member of First Mt. Zion Baptist Church for many years.  Later she joined Friendship Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.  She served as a missionary and remained a faithful member until her illness.

Betty preceded in death by brothers, John, Robert, Jimmy and Floyd; sisters, Dorothy and Delia; and daughter, Peggy J. Cureton.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Jeter of the home; one daughter, Dorothy J. Ross (Raymond); three grandchildren, Monica Ross, Raymond L. Ross (Brandi) and Ronald E. Cureton (Amira); four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Harry D. Jeter of Chester, SC; a special and devoted friend, Loutrell Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives and friends.
