Betty Rickett, 73 of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Dina and Martha Louise Rickett. She was the baby sister of Clarence A. Rickett and Earnest L. Rickett who both preceded her in death.
At birth she was united with Wilson Memorial Presbyterian Church, which later merged with two other churches to become H.O. Graham Presbyterian Church under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastor H.O. Graham. Betty moved her membership to New Hampton Presbyterian Church under the Pastoral Leadership of the late Dr. L. Bryant Parker. After several years she came back to her home church. Betty has served her churches as as Elder, Deacon, and a Trustee. She also served on the Worship Committee, Re-Development Committee, the Gospel Choir, Usher and Hospitality Committee.
Betty graduated from West Charlotte Senior High School in 1965. She retired from the City of Charlotte.
Betty was active member of West Charlotte National Alumni and West Charlotte Class of 1965 Alumni. She was also an active member of Charlotte Steel Aftermath.
Betty demonstrated for love for the Lord by her everyday living. Her very friendly disposition and smiling face won her many friends in her church, community, and the city. She was a very devoted, caring, loving dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
She leaves in possession of her precious memories, the charge to keep on within the faith, to hold dear the memories and times that we have experienced together the following ones are so charged: Daughters; Elder Jamisha Taylor Rinnix and Min. Kathey J. Taylor; Sons: Lee Carlton Rickett (Keila), James A. Taylor (Tambra), Wonald Westmoreland (Karen); Brothers: Timothy Harris, William Eddie Harris, and Pastor Fred Heath (Betty), Corris Davis (Sabrina) all of Charlotte, NC; Grandchildren: Tarrey Rickett, Terek Miller, Brandon Rickett, Kishara Taylor, Kaylin Rickett, Dijonah Taylor, JaHaun Taylor, Shantia Nash, and O'Chey Nash (Patricia), Jordan Cohen, and Micah Stewart; Great Granddaughters: Kameryn Taylor, Ileena Miller, and Dinah Miller; Great Grandsons: Eligh Rickett, Taylor Adayn Green, and Easton Rickett; Aunts: Mrs. Hattie Foster of Philadelphia and Mrs. Thelma Cathy; Special Sisters: Ms. Marcellette Barrett, Ms. Dorothy Faust, and Juanita F. Andrews; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
