Ms. Beverly Evon Matthews, 64 of Charlotte, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Levine & Dickson, Huntersville, NC. She was born March 26, 1956 to the late Willie David Matthews and Mary R. Matthews.

Beverly attended West Mecklenburg High School and later Central Piedmont Community College where she obtained her teaching credentials.

Beverly retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg School system in 2014 after 30 years of service.  Teaching children was her passion and she enjoyed it even after retirement.  Beverly would often volunteer at several schools, working on bulletin boards, which was one of her specialties.

She joined Second Calvary Baptist Church at an early age in which she worked diligently until her health declined.  She was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Association Women's Auxiliary, member of Second Calvary Missionaries, member of the Usher Board and worked as a youth advisor for several years.

Beverly was also an active member of the Christian Workers Chapter #301 OES PHA where she was affectionately called Sister Beverly Matthews, and a member of the Elks (Daughters of Improved Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks of the World).  She served and co-chaired many positions and was well respected by members. Sister Beverly was someone you could always depend on to follow through no matter what task she was given.

Left to cherish fond memories are one daughter, Shenetta Matthews of Charlotte, NC, one son Dexter Seke of Charlotte, NC, One brother Willie (Vicky) Matthews of Charlotte, NC, two grandchildren Jazmine Matthews, Spiryt Seke, a special aunt and uncle, George and Lillie Matthews of Charlotte, NC, special granddaughter, Jerni Barnette, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
