Mr. Bobby Cornelius, 73 of Charlotte, departed this life on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Atrium Health-Mercy. He was the son of the late William and Helen Cornelius, was born August 18, 1947 in Gaston County, North Carolina.

Bobby grew up in the Mt. Holly, North Carolina area.  He attended and graduated from Reid High School in Belmont, NC.  After graduation, he worked at American & Efird Company for 32 years and retired due to ill health.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Robert and James and three sisters, Frances and Margaret Cornelius and Doretha Beam.

Bobby leaves to cherish fond memories his loving wife, Dorothy Cornelius; mother-in-law, Ora Bell Cureton; three sons, Isaac and Curtis Vance of Charlotte, NC and Stacy Smith of Gastonia, NC; three grandchildren, Elizabeth "Lib" Royster, Isherneka Cureton and Curtis Vance, Jr.; two sisters, Willie Mae Williams (Joe) of Gastonia, NC and Betty McBride of Ladson, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
