Brenda Burson, 71 of, Charlotte, NC, transitioned out of her earthly body on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte, NC.  She was born on June 18, 1953. Brenda was the youngest daughter of Robert McElwaine and Willie Mae Smith.

Brenda Burson attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and went on to work for Presbyterian Hospital for 18 years as a Nurse Assistant.

Anyone who knew Brenda knew that she loved God, her family, and cooking a good southern meal and in that order. Many family members and friends got the honor to enjoy her wonderful cooking and her bubbly personality.  Brenda was always the life of the party with her contagious laugh and her quick wit.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother; Willie Mae Smith McElwaine; father, Robert McElwaine Sr.; sisters, Laxie Black and Daisy Minger; and brothers, Robert McElwaine Jr.  and Oscar McElwaine.

Memories of Brenda Burson will forever be cherished. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Burson Sr.; sons, Eric Harris (Tina) and Timothy Burson Jr.; sisters, Bobbie McDowell and Rose Gleaton (Walt); grandchildren, Alexis, Zahreya, and Makayla, all of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
