Brenda Douglas Stitt, 65, of Charlotte, NC, surrendered to the perfect will of God and following her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by exchanging this earthly realm for heavenly rest on July 22, 2020, at Novant Health Presbyterian in Charlotte, NC.
Brenda, also affectionately known as "Peaches", was born on December 31, 1954, to Dorothy Ann Douglas and Napoleon B. Chisholm. She was a 1973 graduate of Independence High School, and matriculated at Central Piedmont Community College, earning an Associate Degree. She began her career at First Union National Bank, and due to a life event left First Union to take CNA classes so that she could stay home and care for her grandmother, Annie L. Brown. After her grandmother passed, she joined the Telecommunications team at Sprint in Charlotte, NC, where she worked until 2001.
Brenda was a faithful and committed wife, a loving mother and grandmother, daughter and sister, the best of all of these that one could have. She had a heart of gold…so pure and genuine. She cared about and wanted to help everyone; she was a natural-born caregiver. If someone needed her she was there by any means necessary -- phone call, automobile, etc. -- to support them. She did so sacrificing her time, her comfort for theirs, and still smiled through it all. When she cared for someone, she gave her all and her best.
She was a gentle-spirited woman of God, who possessed a quiet strength; one of humility, strength, and resilience. No matter what she endured, she wore a beautiful smile on her face and pushed through it all, because she absolutely knew that her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was with her through it all.
Brenda leaves to cherish her life, her husband, William N. Stitt; her children, Jaquay T. Williams of Asheville, NC, William N. Stitt, II (Khristianna) of Charlotte, NC, Erik T. Stitt (Kim) of Charlotte, NC; bonus son, Christopher "Dejuan" Stitt of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Briana Stitt, Na'Liya Stitt, Alina Stitt, Joshua Williams, Zavion Washington, Ella Stitt, Erik "EJ" Stitt; one great-grandchild, Kaiden Stitt; mother, Ann Douglas Thomas (Billy); siblings, Pam DeGraffenreid of Cullowhee, NC, Napoleon B. Douglas (Betty) of Charlotte, NC, Darius Thomas of Lenoir, NC, Monty Thomas (Ledra) of Lenoir, NC; a host of nieces and nephews, loving relatives and friends.
