Chief Cally Onwurah Onodugo was born on October 14, 1949. He was born to the Onodugo family of Umavulu Abor in Enugu State Nigeria. He was the th child of the family.
He attended his lower education in Nigeria and his high education in Nashville, Tennessee. He worked briefly after he came back to Nigeria with Racana Company, and moved to Lagos where he worked at Limca Mineral Company. He retired as the company's director.
He was married to Mrs. Ify Onodugo (nee Okolie) in 1982 at St. Edwards Catholic Church Nashville, Tennessee. He is blessed with six children and thirteen grandchildren. He is survived by sisters, uncles, nephews, and nieces.
Chief Cally Onwurah Onodugo was a model of love, compassion, and generosity until his very last moments with us on earth. His mission was one that made a great difference in the lives of many people. He was well-known and admired in his community.
He left like he lived gently, making sure he had said goodbye to all of his loved ones, and giving each one a little something. He was thinking of others until his very last moment.
It was an honour and a privilege for me to accompany him as he left this life, and to witness his flight into transformation and his liberation from the suffering caused by his illness.
Thank you for reminding us that the present is precious, and that we should make the most of it by loving fully and generously.
Spread your wings and fly proudly, Cally. You earned it!
