Obituary

Mr. Carl Jeffery Foster, 62 of Germantown, MD, passed away on Saturday May 15, 2021 at Holy Cross Hospital, Germantown, MD. He was born November 6, 1958 to the late Sarah Elizabeth Foster and Walker Foster Jr. with his twin sister, Carol.  Growing up in Charlotte, his best friends were Ronald Davis and Gerald Wilburn.  He attended Lakeview Elementary, Spaugh Junior High, and graduated from West Mecklenburg High School where he was active in Football and Track and Field.  Carl then entered The United States Navy July 19, 1977 after completing Boot Camp. He was stationed on The USS Lexington AVT-16 in Pensacola, FL on October 19, 1977.  During his military years, he also acquired best friends Gregory Frazier, Tarrell Franklin, William Clymer and many others from various duty stations.  "Doc", as his friends affectionately called him, believed in having a good time and looking good while doing so.  Many said he resembled the singer/songwriter Smokey Robinson.

In July 1980, He met Wilma Jean Jones.  She became the love of his life whom he later married on April 18, 1986 in Las Vegas.  Two years later, they welcomed a handsome baby boy, Carl Jeffery Foster Jr., whom immediately became his pride & joy.

Doc was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, but still had love for his hometeam, The Carolina Panthers.  His favorite recording artist was the incomparable Anita Baker-Rapture.  Prior to his passing, Doc worked for The RF Connection for over 25 years as a cable specialist with his best friend/owner Joel G. Knoblock.  A skilled chess player and an expert in shooting pool, Doc was truly an opponent to be reckoned with. His one-liners were epic, his laugh contagious, and we will never forget how he always ended his phone calls and in person visits with, "Love you man."

Preceding him in death was his mother- Sarah E. Foster, father-Walker Foster, father-in-law-Paul Jones, sisters-Rena Diane Foster Benton and Rita Delores Foster, nephew-Christopher R. Foster, and niece-Mandeline D. Foster.

He is survived by his wife -Wilma Jean Foster, son-Carl Jeffery Foster Jr. and his fiancee Brittney Kidwell, grandson-Carden Javion Foster Kidwell; mother-in-law-Bernice Jones; sisters-Janet Lucas, Susan Foster, Carol Foster (twin), Angela Foster Williams; sisters-in-law, Paula Cuyler, Pamela Montgomery, Sheila Jones, Della Foster; brother-Darryl Timothy Foster, brothers-in-law-Willie Sparks, Daniel Brown, Robert Brown; Aunt Thelma Cunningham; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
