Mr. Carlyle Everald Richards, Jr. (CJ), 32 of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at his residence. He was born August 16, 1989, in Hartford, Connecticut.

Carlyle graduated from Lugoff Elgin High School in Lugoff, South Carolina and continued his education at The Art Institute of Charlotte.

Carlyle was extremely hard working.  He worked for the City of Charlotte at Charlotte Water for the past five years, beginning in June, 2016.  In addition to working for the City of Charlotte, Carlyle worked tirelessly to build his own printing company, screen printing and embroidering for many in the Charlotte area.  He was dedicated to pursuing his dream and passion, which was building and growing his clothing brand, FLEE Clothing Company.  He designed and made his own apparel which has been loved and worn by many.  Carlyle was a visionary, a leader, a creative and was constantly looking towards the next big thing to put his hands into.  He will be missed dearly by many!

He is survived by his parents, Carlyle Richards, Sr. and Andrea Richards, his stepmother Melissa Huggins, his siblings Shenika, Shamar, Raheem, Elijah, Isaiah, Zaindeen, Keonte, Jeniya, Keandra and Tahtiana, his daughter, Genesis and life partner, Shamira.  Carlyle is also survived by his grandparents, Samuel and Agnes Laylor, Hector Richards, as well as a host of many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, including Jahvion, Kei'maurie, Jah'maurie and Micaiya, other beloved cousins, relatives and close friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Estella Richards.
