On December 13, 2022, Carolyn Benjamin-Wright of Charlotte, North Carolina, peacefully transitioned at the age of 59 years, surrounded by her family.

Carolyn was educated in Mecklenburg County and graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1981. Driven by a passion for health care, Carolyn furthered her education in the healthcare industry at Central Community Piedmont College and Southeastern Institute. Carolyn worked at Mercy Hospital (now known as Atrium) from 1989 to present and multiple Assisted Living Facilities as a CNA/Med Tech.

To know Carolyn is to love her. She was loving, caring, positive and very family oriented. She enjoyed helping people, taking pictures, and especially loved to dance. She also enjoyed taking trips with her family, especially with her grand-daughter, and the comfort of her family and friends. She had a warm and caring spirit. Carolyn will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her late mother Doretha Benjamin, and sister, Kelly Benjamin. Left to cherish her memories are husband Preston Wright, her devoted daughter Shameka Benjamin (Danny), granddaughter Kimora Jones, sisters: Delores Benjamin, Belinda Benjamin, and Lenora Benjamin (all currently residing in Charlotte, NC); Michelle Benjamin, Brenda Benjamin, and Sandy Benjamin (all currently residing in Brooklyn, NY); brothers: Thomas Benjamin (Karen) and Chris Benjamin (Donna) (both currently residing in New Jersey); aunts: Phyllis Benjamin and Nora Dean Benjamin (Brooklyn, NY), Shirley Richardson (Bill) and Ellen Benjamin (Charlotte, NC) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
