Carolyn Linder Hargro, transitioned from this world on December 31, 2021. She is predeceased by her husband and lifelong partner, Andrew Hargro. Carolyn is survived by children Debra Worthy and Sidney Hargro (Lisa Eible); grandchildren Antonio Worthy (Rachel Worthy), Ebonee (Hargro) Rahman, Jada Eible Hargro, Jesse Eible Hargro, Broderick Hicklen (Charlene), and Mondale Hollis; great-grandchildren Andre D. Cole Jr., Asparrow Hargro-Cole, Rico C. Jackson, Jr., Kasi R. Rahman, Myles K. Rahman, Kaylon McKnight-Jackson, Kyndall Whiteside, Shameria Cherry, Nejuan Worthy, Jamal Worthy, Trevon Bright, Broderick Hicklen, Jr., and Xavius Campbell. Carolyn is predeceased by parents James Linder and Bessie (Jefferies) Linder, brother John Pittman Dewberry, and sisters Rachel Smith, Lillie Douglas, Lidel Rice, and Corrie Mae Linder , as well as children Betty Ann Hicklen, Yvonne Bledsoe, and Andrew Eric Hargro, grandchild Nakeya Hicklen and great-grandchild Antonio "Lil Tony" Worthy, Jr.

Carolyn was born in Gaffney, SC, and was raised on a farm with her sisters and brother. As a young woman, she married the love of her life, Andrew Hargro, on December 25, 1951, and moved to Charlotte, N.C. to start a family, eventually raising five children. They spent almost 70 years together before her husband passed away in September 2021. Committed to building a better life for her children, Carolyn worked multiple jobs as a housekeeper, cleaning homes, hotels, and offices in some of Uptown Charlotte's tallest buildings.

Carolyn will be remembered for her tireless work ethic, enduring strength, cooking, generosity, and love for the music of iconic performers like Barry White, Perry Como, Yanni, and Gladys Knigh t. A link to view the service by Zoom viewing will be provided.
