Carolyn Gibson Price, 75, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Carolyn Ann Gibson Price was born on April 1, 1950, in Mount Holly, North Carolina, the baby girl of the late Doyle Gibson and Lois Gibson. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Carolyn was educated in the Gaston County School System. She graduated from Mount Holly High School and continued her education at Central Piedmont Community College. She began her professional career at the Federal Reserve Bank, where she dedicated 30 years of service before retiring in February 2003. After her retirement, Carolyn continued her passion for service by working with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System as a substitute teacher for 15 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 57 years, Thomas Price; a daughter, Monica Simmons (Tyrone); a son, Idrissa Price (Yazhmin); two grandsons, Kadeem Price and Khalil Price; and two great-grandchildren, Kingston Price and Kali Price, all of Charlotte, North Carolina. She also leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Nancy Thornell of San Diego, California; brothers-in-law, Joe Williams (Debra), David Williams (Thomasina), Sam Price, and Johnny Price; sisters-in-law, Nancy Jean Gibson and Lisa Joyner; her godchild, Ann Williams (Garland); and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Lois Gibson; her brother, James Doyle Gibson; her mother-in-law, Ada Williams; and several other loving family members.

Carolyn was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Stanley, North Carolina, at the time of her passing.

Carolyn was most certainly a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, family member, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
