Mrs. Carolyn Moore Roddey, 82, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at University Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Carolyn Moore Roddey was born on January 19, 1943, in Union, SC. She was the only child of the late Odell and Nancy Moore. Carolyn was a graduate of Sims High School class of 1960. She worked at Radiator Specialty for 17 years and retired from Frito Lay after 24 years of service.

Carolyn was united in Holy Matrimony with Proctor Roddey on December 19, 1965, and to this union two children were born, Derrick and Alicia.

Carolyn loved God and was a faithful member of Second Calvary Baptist Church and served with various groups for many years. They included the Senior Usher Board, the Advisor for the Children's Usher Board, the Kitchen Ministry, a leader for the Marriage Ministry and was a Deaconess.

She was a talkative, lively person who loved people and never met a stranger. She loved to garden and believed in giving back, this spirit led her to become a hospice volunteer.

Carolyn was preceded in death by the love of her life, Proctor Roddey. She leaves to mourn her children, Derrick R. Roddey of Farmington Hills, MI, Alicia R. Ganaway (Gary), of Farmingto\7n Hills MI, granddaughters, Robbie, and Carolyn. Two sister-in- laws, one brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
