Carrie McMullen, 73, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Levine & Dickson Aldersgate Charlotte, NC. 

Carrie J. Ervin McMullen, daughter of the late Willie Ervin and Jannie Perry Ervin, was born January 12, 1952, in Charlotte, North Carolina, at Good Samaritan Hospital. She transitioned peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Aldersgate.

Carrie spent her early educational years attending Charlotte Mecklenburg School commencing at Second Ward High School. As a toddler her family gave her the nickname of ToLue because she had two teeth in her mouth.

Carrie worked for many years in various occupations retiring from Charlotte Douglas Airport. She began her Christian journey as a child at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Trade Street. She continued her Christian walk at EBC where she was a faithful member of Adult Sunday School Class #2 and the Hymn Choir. Carrie lived, loved and laughed. She had a thing for the Arts over the last year seeing live performances of the Lion King, Tina Turner the Musical and Immediate Family.

Carrie had a strong sense of family and loved them very much. She had one sibling who predeceased her, Linda D. Ervin Smith. Carrie’s loving memory will forever be cherished by family, sisters Geretha “Rita” Weldon, Vernetta Ervin Barnes and Pertanza Allen, all of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Michael McClain (Debra) and Bruce Ervin; uncles, Hazel Ervin (Eloise), Leroy Ervin (DeeDee); niece, LaTonya Ervin; nephew, Rodney Ervin (Clara); a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, extended family and friends who will carry a piece of her legacy and spirit always. She was blessed with many close friends, whose love and support enriched her life in countless ways, Regina Barber, Shelia McFadden and Rev. Mary Duckett.
