Carrie Vaughn 93, passed on September 22, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 12 noon at First Baptist-West, 1801 Oaklawn Avenue, Charlotte. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Survivors are: two sons, Wilkins Smith (Wynetta) and Frederick Smith (Doris); four daughters, Brenda S. Neely, Ruth Smith-McDonald (Mike) and Paulette Burkhalter (Tony, all of Charlotte; and Ruby Ellington (Wendell) of Fairburn, Ga.
