Casey Andre Wintons, 51, of Charlotte, North Carolina, suddenly passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020.

Casey was born June 19, 1969 in Queens, New York to James, Sr. and Carolyn Taylor Wintons.

He was educated in the Long Island (New York) school system, where he played football and basketball. He also played baseball for the Police Athletic League.

With dreams of making it big in the music industry, Casey joined a rap group in the early 1980's.  He, his brother, and friends spent time recording beats and writing rhymes.  When he wasn't rapping, Casey worked at Bagdad Tires on Long Island.

Casey married Jacqueline Miller on March 26, 1990. The union was blessed with four sons: Casey T.; Jermaine; Christian; and Jelani Wintons. Casey also had three other children: Kashon Squire, Dashon Squire, and Afina Barnes.

Seeking to open a group home, Casey earned an Associates degree in Human Resources from the University at Buffalo.

Years later, Casey followed Islam and changed his name to Kashon Kahlif Muhammed before moving to Charlotte in 2014.

Casey loved life and being around people. This sudden loss has left a deep hole in the hearts of family and friends.

Left to mourn his passing are his mother, Carolyn Wintons of Charlotte; father, James Wintons, Sr. of Miami, FL; wife, Jacqueline Wintons of Greensboro, NC; sons, Casey T. and Christian Wintons of Charlotte; Jermaine and Jelani Wintons of Greensboro; Kashon Squire of New York; Dashon Squire of Charlotte; daughter, Afina Barnes of Virginia; grandson, Christian Rashon Wintons, Jr.; sisters, LaWanda Diamond (the late Russell Diamond), Michele Wintons, Jonel Wintons, NaQuashia Wintons, and Octavia Wintons, all of Charlotte; brothers, James Wintons, Jr., (Jamela) of Charlotte; Jermaine Wintons of Jacksonville, FL; James McKenzie of Delaware; Rashawn Wintons of Pennsylvania; and Jackie Wintons of New York; a host of nieces;  nephews; and cousins.
