Catherine Frances Ford, 85 of Charlotte, NC, transitioned this life on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.  She was born in Chester, SC on July 10, 1936 to the late Lottie Boulware Roland and Clyde McMullen.  She was preceded in death by her mother, and father, 2 brothers, Marion McMullen and James McMullen.

Catherine attended and graduated high school from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.  She attended Band's Beauty College, in Charlotte, NC, the first cosmetology school for African Americans in this region of the Carolinas.  She worked at a beauty salon in the South Park area for over 10 years.  She also worked as a nurse's assistance for many years for Presbyterian Wesley Care Center where she retired in 2002.  Catherine was the proud mother of 1 daughter, Loretta Young Kirk.  She was also a proud member and best dressed Front Row seat holder of "The Park" church (formally University Park Baptist Church).

She leaves to mourn; Daughter Loretta Young Kirk (William Kirk) of Rock Hill, SC, Brother Clyde McMullen of San Diego CA, Sisters, Alma Upton of San Bernardino, CA and Debra Boulware of Charlotte, NC.  She also leaves one and only granddaughter, Letitia "Tee Biscuit" Young and great granddaughter Makiah "Poodle" Broadie, Special Friend Vanessa Barnes, Ms. Shirley, Ms. Allison and the Anita Stroud Family, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, friends, family, and great, great grandbunny Q-Tip!
