Catherine Richardson, 93, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center in Huntersville, NC.

Catherine Grier Richardson was the only child of the late Joseph Weathers and Sarah Bell Grier. She was born April 11, 1933, in Mecklenburg County. She departed her life on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Catherine was employed with Delmar Studios until they moved to Nevada. Then she began her career at Baptist Bookstore (Lifeway Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist) where everyone enjoyed her assistance in finding the exact gifts, scriptural affirmations, or books that addressed their needs. She remained there until she retired.

Catherine was married to the late Henry “H” Wallace Richardson of Charlotte until his death in 1987. To this union, two daughters, Linda and Brenda Richardson, were born. Catherine and H worked together at First United Presbyterian Church participating in various activities and programs. They were members of the Young at Hearts Group and Mariners as they enjoyed many travels and events together at First United. Catherine also served in leadership as Trustee and Deacon. She was an active member of the following ministries: Usher Board, Hospitality Committee, Altar Flower Guild, Presbyterian Women/Ruth Circle, and was a counter with the Finance Committee until her health declined.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Linda and Brenda; grandson, Steve Vaughn (Tiffany); brother, Joseph Weathers (Cheryl) of Harrisburg, PA; godson, Samuel Daniels of McDonough, GA; a very special neighbor, Violet Leung; and a host of cousins, friends, family friends and church members.
