Ms. Catherine Taylor Steele, 69 of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday March 17, 2019 at Levine & Dickson Hospice, Aldersgate.  She was born August 15, 1949 to the late Mr. Herman O. Taylor and Mrs. Grace Taylor.

Catherine was affectionately known as "Cat" to relatives and friends.  During her prosperous life, she graduated from West Charlotte High School, Class of 1967.  At the age of 17, Cat began working for Duke Power Company where she was employed for over 30 years.  After working there, Cat drove a school bus for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System where she retired after 11 years.

Cat was a member of James Chapel Baptist Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina.  She was also a member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) for over 15 years.  In her spare time, she enjoyed baking and sewing.

In addition to her parents, Cat was preceded in death by a sister, Paulette Taylor; a nephew, Avante Taylor and a niece, Simone March.

Cat is survived by her daughter, Tyneta Steele, two granddaughters, TaVoni Steele and Tayla Steele; one brother, Paul Taylor (Betty); two sisters, Barbara Taylor and Stephanie Daniel; a host of nieces and nephews; and devoted friends, Janice Standifer, Joyce Wright and Trinicia King.
