Mr. Chan Tate, 65 of Charlotte, departed this life on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Wilora Lake Healthcare. He was born on September 18, 1955 and was the son of the late, Glenn Alexander Tate and the late Edavay Wallace Tate.
Chan was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and also attended Johnson C. Smith University. Chan joined O'Zion Methodist Church at an early age and later in life he became a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Left to cherish fond memories of Chan are one daughter, Sana Tate of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Jamal Moss, Mantwon Moss, Chan Tate Jr., all of Charlotte, NC; five granddaughters, seven nephews, all of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Evelyn Parsons, Ona Tate Phifer (Ben), all of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Ambrose Tate of Charlotte, NC; and a special devoted friend, Sharon Annette Moss, of Charlotte, NC.
Chan loved God, his family, friends, and people in general. Chan was never known to have met a stranger.
