Mr. Charles E. Green Jr., 43 of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Atrium Main.

Mr. Charles E. Green Jr., who was affectionately known as CJ (CeeJay), was born on December 26, 1979, in Jacksonville, AR. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Charles E. Green, Sr. of Memphis, TN.

He resided in Memphis for 13 years during his adolescent and early adult years and obtained his GED in 2006. He briefly relocated to Columbus, OH in December 2007 and then to Durham, NC in June 2008. He worked in warehouse and restaurant establishments until he was trained as a tattoo artist by Mr. Ricardo Johnson and began working as a tattoo artist at RiskTakerz in 2014. He later owned his own tattoo shop, Deeper Than Skin Tattoos, in Burlington, NC for about 3 years before relocating to Charlotte, NC in 2019. He worked at Tattooz and Booz for several years before he passed away. He loved being a tattoo artist and meeting people.

He was a person of faith who believed in God, prayed, and often read the Bible. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and having fun. He was energetic, often smiling, wanted others around him to be happy and have a good time, and communicated with people like he knew them for years. His energy was unmatched.

He is survived by five children, Reginald Green, Charlenn Green, Mycheal Yates, Amarii Green, and Caiden Coble; mother, Faye Brown (Anthony); brother, Marcellus Coats (Sheree), sister, Marquisha Lee, as well as five grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
