Mr. Charles Wesley Williams, 80, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at his residence.
Mr. Charles Wesley Williams, affectionately known as "C.W." was born on August 25, 1943, to the late George Hooker and Daisy Isabelle Williams Person in Carthage, North Carolina. Charles was raised by the late Russell and Mattie Williams in Carthage, North Carolina. He entered his eternal earthly rest and accepted his angelic wings on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, Linda Williams peacefully in their home.
Charles attended Moore County schools and graduated from Pinkney High School in 1962. The start of his career began when drafted into the United States Army in June of 1965 where he served in Vietnam war from 1965 through 1968. After the military, Charles relocated Charlotte, North Carolina and continued his career in the field of a landscaping as a supervisor, and later as a plumbing technician until retirement.
His life would be forever change in the Spring of 1985, when he met the love of his life, Linda Brunson Williams, who shared 39 years of memories with him, of which 24 years as husband and wife.
On May 13, 2000, we said "I do. You were a loving husband and I thank you for that. You didn't mind helping others when in need, you never met a stranger, and you enjoyed reminiscing about your childhood. Although there is an enormous void in my heart, I will forever cherish and reflect on all our great memories. I know that God makes no mistakes and only he can fill this void. You will always be the love of my life, and I will truly miss you.

C.W was a was a caring, kindhearted, that loved to laugh especially while reminiscing about his childhood and family. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan that never met a stranger and would speak his mind, not holding back words. Charles hobbies included football, watching wrestling, grilling out and traveling to visit family and friends in Moore and Stanley County.
Charles was preceded in death by both of his parents, along with his sisters, Daisy Barber Spruill (Charlie) of Carthage NC, Jacqueline H. Davis of Fayetteville, NC, Alice Hooker of Albemarle NC, and Brenda H McLendon (Lewis) of High Point, NC.; and brothers, Shelley Brooks(Helen) of Washington, DC, Walter Hooker of Rochester, MA, Franklin Hooker of Albemarle NC, Jackie Person (Goldie) of Carthage, NC, William M. Person (Marion) of Robbins, NC, Billy R. Person of Robbins, NC, and Samuel Simmons (Lynette).
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Linda Brunson Williams; two sons, Anthony Smith, and David Dunlap of Florida; and one daughter, Cleesa Brunson Osborne (Marvin) all of Charlotte NC; two sisters, Brenda Person Snow of Carthage, NC. Janice H. Simmons (Samuel) of Hope Mills, NC, two brothers, Leandor Hooker (Joyce) of Charlotte, NC, and Melvin Hooker (Fleeta) of Albemarle NC. Honorary siblings; Yvonne Martin (Percy) Dicky Williams, and Jerry Williams (Diane Special nieces Lisa Person, Billie Person-Black (Tony), Special Cousin; Marnita Bell. Honorary Aunt; Mattie Williams of Carthage, NC and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
