Mrs. Cherlonda Martease' Ashford Missouri, 33 of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at her residence.  Cherlonda was born on August 7, 1987, a native of Charlotte, NC.  Cherlonda grew up in a large loving family.  During her elementary years she attended Irwin, Highland, moved on to McClintock Middle School and finished her high school at American Academy of Pinecrest.  Cherlonda furthered her education at Johnson and Wales University where she obtained an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts, becoming a member of the 2015 graduating class.  Cherlonda always had a passion for cooking and excelled at it. Her cooking passion was spread throughout Charlotte while cooking in bars, hotels, and various catering services.  She taught those who wanted to learn and those who didn't.  Her knowledge of food was vast and she patiently shared this skill.  She demonstrated great love for her family and strangers.

While working at Whole Foods in 2017, Cherlonda met the love of her life Dayon Missouri.  The friendship began to blossom and they both became a couple on Cherlonda's birthday, August 7, 2017. The relationship continued to grow and a year later Dayon proposed to Cherlonda.  On September 7, 2019 the couple became united in marriage. Cherlonda Ashford officially became Cherlonda Missouri and she was so excited about that.

Cherlonda was a strong, confident, smart, kind, supportive, passionate, beautiful, graceful, powerful, down to earth funny, open minded and most of all a fierce and honorable woman of God. Cherlonda was a very spritiual woman of God. She love spending time with family, shopping, cooking and playing spades.  Cherlonda learned how to play spades, thanks to her husband Dayon Missouri.  When she played she played to win. Cherlonda never learned how to prank call people without giving herself up.  Cherlonda began her spiritual journey at New Vision Deliverance Ministry.  In 2014 she was baptized at New Vision Deliverance Ministry by Pastor Mike Wilson.  She studied the word of God and knew God's love for her was real.  Later, she joined Breakthrough Center International Ministry in 2019.  Cherlonda's favorite part about Breakthrough was the way the church praised and worshiped God.  She would tell her Aunty Charlena, she felt like she was in the club praising Jesus.  Bishop James and Pastor Lucinda Connor helped Cherlonda deepen and strengthen her relationship with God, through their teaching and ministering.  Cherlonda was a great soul, daughter, sister, niece, and most of all a wife and mother.

Cherlonda leaves to mourn her loss, her (husband) Dayon Missouri, (children) Christiana Ferguson, Adrianna Ferguson; (parents) Andromeda Foley, Joe Steepleton, (grandparents) Cecelia Goodwin (husband Ferdinand Goodwin), Willie J. Ashford Jr. (great grandparents), Sarah Reddfern (husband Thomas Reddfern), (godparents) Clay and Deidre Grubb, (brothers) Demarcus Love, Otis Simpson, Rodrickus Steepleton, Joseph Steepleton Jr. (godbrother) Davis Grubb, (sisters) Keirra Moffett, Unique Simpson, (godsister) Rosalie Grubb, (aunties) Shanna Sellers, JaTammie Howard, Charlena Smalls, Junelle Smalls, Sarah Crawford (husband Robert Crawford), Varene Smalls, (uncles) Hamadi Ashford (wife Janean Ashford) and Chaseem Anthony, (extended family) Tammy Watt, Brandon Ferguson, (special friends) Candice Wilson, Sherise Green, (in-laws) Karlos Neal, Annette Missouri, many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and a host of other relatives.  May Her Soul Rest In Peace.
