Cheryle Elizabeth Hunt, 61 of Charlotte, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Atrium Health-University. She was introduced to the world on December 8, 1959. Born and raised in the Queen City, Cheryle knew from the very beginning that she was royalty! As the first child to Joseph and Mary Hunt, she grew up in a loving household.
A true Carolina girl at heart, Cheryle was a proud West Charlotte Lion and Winston-Salem State University Ram. As a young mother, she held down multiple positions to provide for her small children, born just 22 months apart; Cheryl worked at Belk, drove for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and the city's first exotic limousine service, and she served the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) for nearly a decade before leaving on disability in the early 2000s.
Cheryle's infectious energy continues to immortalize her as the life of the party to this day! She was a lover of good food, music that made you move, nurturing her natural green thumb and spending quality time with her loved ones (usually while cheering on her Dallas Cowboys, Duke Blue Devils, or L.A. Lakers!) Her favorite saying was 'OKAAYYY'!
She is survived by her two children: Michael Hunt and Bianca Sloan; along with three grandchildren: Zyteria Page, Xaine Hunt, and Emmanuel Sloan; her brother, Joseph Jefferson (Jeff) Hunt II, his wife, Lisa Hunt, her niece and nephew, Ashley and Joseph Jefferson (Jaye) Hunt III; her special sister, Debra Withers-Brown, her beloved dog, Zurie, along with a host of other extended nieces, nephews, church family, and loved ones.
