Obituary

Christopher Alexander Caldwell was born January 18, 1951, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was the only child born to the late Ressey Massey Caldwell and Clem Alexander Caldwell. Chris departed this life at Atrium University Hospital, on Saturday, October 21, 2023.

Chris graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1969 and furthered his education at North Carolina Central University, with an Associates Degree in English. After leaving NC Central, he pursued a career as a Laboratory Technician, retiring from Valspar Chemicals.

Chris was a faithful member of Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Church for over 70 years. He was a member of the Little Rock A.M.E. Zion Church Choir, President of the Men's Booster Ministry, and former chairperson of the Little Rock Day Committee. Chris loved his church family and was quick to tell everyone how special they were.

He was a member of Masonic Sliver Set Lodge No. 327.

Chris leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 38 years, Angela T. Caldwell; one con, Gervase L. Caldwell (Yolanda); one daughter, Christal A. Caldwell; one grand-daugther, Getherian C. Caldwell; three grandsons, Kwame X Hayes, D'Andre L. Johnson, Devon K. Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Vangela Freeman Witherspoon (Wade) and Angela M. Smith; one niece, Christian Bennett (Alfred); one nephew, Emanuel C. Freeman; mother-in-law, Robbie A. Thompson; mother-in-law, Phyllis T. Hyatt; father-in-law, James W. Hyatt; and one godson, Ranzeno L. Frazier.
