Christopher Antoine Smith, Sr., 48 of Charlotte, departed this life on May 30, 2022 at Atrium Health - Union. He was born to James and Mary Smith on December 17, 1973 in Florence, SC before moving to Charlotte, NC as a young child.  He was a loving Husband, Son, Father, Grandfather and Sibling.

Christopher (Slimer) attended Char-Meck schools and graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1992.  He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1992 and was on Active Duty until 1996. While active he served in the Rwandan War and "Kenya Support Hope".  He was stationed in Twenty-Nine Palms, CA & Cherry Point, NC.  He remained on active reserve until 2004, where he was Honorably Discharged from the Marines Corp as a Staff Sargent.  After leaving Active-Duty Chris worked at Lucent Technologies until the business closed in 2010.

He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, watching the Dallas Cowboys, watching Sci-Fi movies and being with family.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  His wife Alexia Smith; one daughter Briana Smith; one son Christopher Antoine Smith II; one stepson Michael Foster and a stepdaughter Teala Armstrong; one grandson Cameron Amir Smith and six step grandchildren; his brother Glen Smith (Shirleen) and Travis Goodwin, a special sister Keshia Vereen and a host of family and friends.
