Mr. Cleother "Cleo" Young, Jr., 66 of Charlotte, passed away on April 3, 2019 at CMC-Main. He was born on March 6, 1953 in Pineville, North Carolina, son of the late Cleother Young, Sr. and Pearlie Wilson-Tukes.
Cleother was a former member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing and good gospel music. Cleother talked about God and he knew God as his personal Savior. As he grew older, he went out into the work world and obtained employment at Quail Hollow Golf Course for 16 years and later worked for Carolina Golf Course for 13 years. He was affectionately called "Bug."
He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Young and brothers, James Milton-Young and Bradley Young.
His memories will always be cherished by his loving wife, Kathy H. Young who loved him for 23 years; daughters, Ms. Tamecka Melvin, Ms. Tonya Harris, Mrs. Shawanda Porter (Johnny), and Ms. Kisher Harris; sons, Mr. Taraja Jeeter (Kyra), and Mr. Breena Harris and godson, Mr. Anthony Melvin, all of Charlotte, NC; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Curry (Lewis) and Mrs. Marilyn Sanders of Charlotte and Mrs. Angela Wheeler of Philadelphia, PA; four brothers, Mr. Vernon Young (Tara), Mr. Gregory Young (Tawana), Mr. David Jackson Jr. (Lisa), all of Charlotte, and Mr. Anthony Young of Philadelphia, PA; three aunts, Ms. Odessa Wilson, Mrs. Joanne Young and Ms. Margaret Young, all of Charlotte, NC; two uncles, Mr. Fred Wilson (Ida) and Mr. Joseph Wilson (Mamie) of Lancaster, SC; and a very special dad, Mr. Tony Tukes, He leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
