Mr. Cornelius Alexander Smith, 61, of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Five Oaks Rehabilitation.

Mr. Cornelius A. Smith, son of the late Julia M. Smith and William A. Smith, was born January 29, 1962, in Chesterfield, South Carolina.  He departed this life on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Five Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Concord, North Carolina.

Cornelius, who went by the nickname, "Neat," attended Metro School here in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He was loved by many and well known for making jokes and picking on those he loved.  "He could make you mad, too."

Cornelius was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and five brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memories one sister, Glennie Rorie of Bridgeport, Connecticut; brother, Clayton Smith (Carolyn) of Charlotte, NC; aunts and uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He also leaves close friends Larry Boyd (Genette) and Rose.
