Mr. Cortney Davis, 47 of Charlotte, NC., departed this life on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Atrium Health Main.

Mr. Cortney K. Davis, son of Jewell Lewis and Willie P. Davis Jr., was born on October 29, 1975 in Charlotte, NC.  On March 17, 2023, he entered into eternal rest.

Affectionately nicknamed "Cat" by his family and "Hi-C" by friends, Cortney was the life of the party wherever he went. Never anything short of a great time was guaranteed in his presence.  His smooth personality, sense of humor and laugh were contagious.  Hi-C enjoyed life to the fullest especially while being chauffeured around in his own car.  He was always fresh and clean, sporting the "dopest" clothes, newest Jordans, shades and his infamous backwards ball cap.

Hi-C enjoyed watching basketball, but he especially loved the Green Bay Packers. To know Hi-C, you knew he was a chicken wing connoisseur.  Once he found a restaurant that was good, he always shared the love.  Any time of day, you could catch him with a large Bojangles sweet tea, cajun filet biscuit and fresh hot fries.  One of his favorite hobbies was playing his numbers.  He had a winning strategy- but kept it a secret.  His love for reading led to his desire to become a soon to be self-published author.  He was a lover of life and wanted to share that with everyone he encountered.  He would call/text or show up any time of day.  Hi-C was always smiling, loving, loyal, funny, kind-hearted and giving.

Hi-C was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. Willie P. Davis Sr. and Mrs. Estelle B. Davis of Charlotte, NC and uncle, Voga Wallace of Silver Spring, MD.

He leaves to cherish the memories of his life his mother, Jewell Lewis; father, Willie P. Davis, Jr.; step-father, Otis Lewis, Jr.; grandparents, Marie Mahatha of Charlotte, NC, Everette Wallace Jr. of Pamplico, SC; children, Dominique Williams and Sham'Brae Davis, both of Charlotte, NC; great-uncle, J.W. Mahatha; great-aunts, Blandina M. Gray and Frances Diggs; one brother, Sheronn Mahatha; three step-brothers, Dante Jones (Michelle), Dion Jones, Jeton Graham; mother/aunt, Phoebe Charles (Pristly); uncles, Tracy Mahatha, Johnson W. Mahatha (Suquana) of Midland, NC; aunts, Valdora Evans of Columbia, SC, Vongie Ellison (Marcus) of Beltsville, MD; special little cousin, A'Bria Fulmore; and host of cousins, family and friends.
